Editorial control
Bristol Areas Unfiltered retains complete editorial control over its area guides — we decide which areas to cover, what to say about them, and how they're presented.
We are not a property business
We are not an estate agency, letting agency or property developer. We have nothing to sell or let, and no commercial stake in where any reader chooses to settle.
No favourable treatment for commercial reasons
No area gets a rosier writeup because of a commercial tie with a business, agent or developer.
Disclosure
Should paid, sponsored or affiliate relationships ever be introduced, they'll be clearly flagged on the relevant pages.
Rankings stay editorial
Commercial arrangements are never allowed to quietly shape neighbourhood rankings, comparisons or editorial conclusions.
Balance
An area guide should lay out the positives, negatives and trade-offs. A guide listing only advantages isn't much help to someone deciding where to live.
Keeping facts current
Factual claims — prices, transport, schools, local services — get updated once they become significantly outdated. We only change a 'last updated' date when a guide has actually been reviewed or revised.
Opinion is labelled as opinion
Local views, resident quotes and our own impressions are flagged as opinion rather than presented as objective fact.
Stereotypes get scrutiny
Bristol neighbourhoods often carry reputations that are outdated or oversimplified. We don't repeat existing stereotypes as fact without giving them context.
Geographical honesty
If an area falls outside the City of Bristol boundary — in South Gloucestershire, North Somerset or Bath & North East Somerset — we make that clear, and explain why it's still relevant to someone moving to Bristol.
